He Amazes Me

Shad ran the White Rock 1/2 marathon this morning with our good friend RayRay. Just so you know how good a friend she is. Emma's 5th word was RayRay.

RayRay had been training for several months for this run but do to her hectic work schedule she hadn't run in a few weeks and in fact her longest run to date was 9 miles.

Shad ran the 1/2 in Las Vegas last Sunday. He CRUSHED his personal best time. He ran it in 2hrs 6min and 31sec. He was tired but wasn't going to miss White Rock for anything. Not only is White Rock where he started this journey 2 years ago but also he was going to make sure RayRay finished what she started.

We stayed at the W just like last year. It is so nice! And very convenient when you have little ones. Literally we walk out the door and we are at the race.

RayRay did great up until mile 9 then things went down hill. She really wanted to quit but Shad wouldn't let her. In her words.."I just wanna lay down for a bit...OK" BUT NO WAY Shad encouraged her and led her to the finish. SHE DID IT!!!

This is Shad's 6th 1/2 marathon and he has completed 1 full. The last 4 1/2's have been in the last 3 months. I think we have a new hobby

I couldn't be prouder of both of them!!!
